Hello ppl!!!!
Day light saving began on 14th March at 2:00 am….I’m kinda over wid it…but some of my frnds are still having tough time with the ‘time change’!!!My roommate always complains about how her sleeping hours have been reduced because of this, and she is not able to sleep at nights….So, today lemme tell you guys a little about “Day Light Saving”!!For me this whole thing of changing time was quite weird…as we don’t have any such thing back in India.I always wondered how can the clocks automatically change time??? But then I realized that only the mobile and computer clock have changed time!!!( Can you believe, earlier I thought they have some awesome kind of watches here in USA which can change the time all by themselves!!! hehehe
)
So coming back to “Day light saving”. It is the practice of temporarily advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn.Modern DST was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson.Many countries have used it since then; details vary by location and change occasionally.
Wondering how does it works???So here it is…in a typical case where a one-hour shift occurs at 02:00 local time, in spring the clock jumps forward from 02:00 standard time to 03:00 DST and that day has 23 hours, whereas in autumn the clock jumps backward from 02:00 DST to 01:00 standard time, repeating that hour, and that day has 25 hours. A digital display of local time does not read 02:00 exactly at the shift, but instead jumps from 01:59:59.9 either forward to 03:00:00.0 or backward to 01:00:00.0.
So update your watches n be on time…as David Letterman says… Don’t forget it’s daylight savings time. You spring forward, then you fall back.
